Presenter spotlight: David Mitchell

David Mitchell is a Utah-based writer, entrepreneur, and martial artist. He earned a computer science degree from BYU, spent over twenty years in software, later earned an MBA from BYU, and then left software to start an irrigation company with his wife.

He has written multiple novels and nonfiction books, and received an Honorable Mention from the Writers of the Future Contest. His fiction blends mystery, science fiction, fantasy, and moral tension, with action informed by belt rankings in Shotokan Karate, Kempo Karate, and Aikido, plus time on the BYU fencing team.

Outside of writing and business, David enjoys aikido, mountain biking, tabletop role-playing games, comics, Star Wars, and playing goalie in his summer soccer league.
